Practical Urologic Cytopathology

This book is divided in 10 chapters organized in a conventional sequence. After a brief historical review in Chapter 1, the next four chapters describe normal, inflammatory, and infectious processes that affect the urinary tract. Chapters 6 and 7 review the literature in detail and provide practical guidelines for the cytologic interpretation of primary and secondary neoplasms of the urinary tract. The value of urine cytology is analyzed in Chapter 8. The closing chapters review the use and value of special methods applied to urine cytology specimens and the fine needle aspiration of urothelial neoplasms.
